50 Eight - THING

The THING to do...on a wintery day. Hanging out with best friends, family, strangers. Possibly waiting for the distant farmer to show his face....and drop some seed.....dinner.
Finally winter blessed me with a snowy day on a weekend when I was alone (except my Lexi) so I could go out and discover a snow globe world with all kinds of wonders. (More pics to be shared soon.) I saw these guys as I headed to a beach park to wander in the snow ladden woods. They were still there when I headed home. There was no traffic with the bad roads. (Only crazy photographers out and about.) I stopped and shot some pics. Left. A mile and half down the road...I decided I didn't have enough of them. Came back and shot more...in both directions....and then headed home once again....creatively satisfied. Smiling.

50 Seven - RANGE

I was blessed with a trip to Kansas City where the snow had melted and temperatures were in the 70s...if even for just a day. The ground was wet. The trees barren. And yet....after such a harsh winter....the range of fields was covered with grasses adding golden beauty to an otherwise drab backdrop. For me, it was breathtaking. I could have spent all day there. Roaming. Through the range of fields.

50 Six - FAR

Somewhere....Far. Away. Home.

Through the country.

Across new slippery blankets of snow.

Country roads.

Nearly abandoned.

Over the hills.

Far away.

Home.

Soon.

50 Five - LIVE

I have the pleasure of being able to travel now and then to assist with Live Auctions that are held in many different cities through out the northeast. Although they are a lot of work and long hours, I find many times that I live for the moments that I share with the people involved and look forward to dealing with the people that attend. It's refreshing in it's own way. It's 'different' than the four walls I chat with five days a week.

50 Four - COOK

I love to cook. I hate to cook for just myself. I love to experiment when I'm cooking. I try to keep it healthy. Something as simple as a salad....can be new and different every time I 'cook' it, especially when some weeks it seems to be the only thing I have time and energy to . Cook.

50 Three - LEAP

They looked forward most, I believe, to this portion of the photo shoot. To be able to move. To leap down the sandy dune. To make noise. Screaming. Laughing. Let's do it again...repeated...over and over.
(This one I had to pull from my summer archives. This one...makes me long for the winter to be over.)

50 Two - NO

Oh, yes. NO was said in many different ways this day. This moment. Each time she backed up. Each time she went forward. Each time the truck refused to climb back up the hill. Each time creeping, ever so sneakily, down the slope. Closer. Closer. To the large water puddle left behind by the escaping snow.

50 One - ALLY

Definitely a lifelong Ally. Say each others name to another in their absence and....the bouncing and urging to go visit begins. Get them together...and the terrible twos definitely show. So much love for each other...although I believe the gentlemen have a different version of Love in mind than my Lexi...the only female in the group. As you can see....the boys are smiling. Lexi thoughtfully (really Mom, can you make them sit stay for the rest of the day so they'll quit climbing on me.)

Fifty - LAUGH

A LAUGH - so contagious. So cute. So awesome.

My mother...you've got to love her.

Forty 9 - NEXT

Patiently, we all line up and anxiously wait for the NEXT hunting Eagle to come our way.

Forty 8 - SOFT

I love the distant, simple, curiosity of the donkeys. What really attracted me to these were the soft, warm look of the ears. Although each had their own coloring..the ears all looked alike.

Forty 7 - EXPAND

Above freezing temperatures are allowing Lexi and I to expand our evening work out, bonding session to the outdoors again. I can feel the winter depression slowly disappearing!!! Yea!!!

Forty 6 - ADMIT

I definitely have to have another discussion with the person that continuously admits these 'sweet things' into the house. I definitely will not admit....that I have an ever increasing sweet tooth as each year progresses.

Forty 5 - STOPPING

Stopping here was much needed after hours of hiking and bird watching.

Forty 4 - FINALLY

FINALLY...a day with temps warm enough to allow me to pamper my 4-Runner.

Forty 3 - WEIRD

Weird to some maybe...but pretty much normal for us who live in Wisconsin.

Forty 2 - MAP

These modern day maps have provided me much more adventurous freedom to explore areas offering many creative moments for my photography passion.

Forty 1 - SOUND

This guy would send out his sound signals every time another would land in the tree with food. He sat there most of the day expecting I guess, for someone to feed him.

Forty - WHITE FLAG

For me....this (avian life, rivers opening up, snow melt) is a white flag, from Winter to Spring....saying...Uncle. I give. I'm backing off. I'm tired. It's your turn to shine, Sister Spring.

30 Nine - DIRECT

One of the many signs that tend to direct us in life.

30 Eight - WAFT

Once again, the snow wafts across the highway softly reminding us that, well, spring is probably still at minimum, six weeks away.

30 Seven - HISTORIC

Really....need I say anymore!!!

Historic...the perfect word for a most perfect day.

30 Six - FETCH

It is her most favorite thing to do and even though it is 20 degrees out, she insists it be part of her daily routine. The only change being that since the yard is knee deep in snow, the kong must travel up the driveway towards the street to avoid losing it until the days warm up and the snow melts away. Though I do have to admit, she's pretty good about finding it even in the deep snow.

30 Five - CROSSROADS

Crossroad of the every day traveler and the winter bound farming road.

30 Four - DETERMINED

Finally a day with a sunset. No dreary clouds. Whispy, enchanting clouds. Blue skies. Colorful sunset...and I had to enjoy most of it in the car enroute home from the 8 to 5 thingy....but...I was determined. Determined to get there in time to get a shot of the sunset colors. Determined..in need of something other than clouds, gray, and inside four walls.

30 Three - COZY

Blizzard outside = COZY inside

30 Two - JELLY

A spoonful of jelly...homemade jelly....pear...from the tree in my yard.
How awesome is that?
